Ordinary local records are protected by your device, app, and browser access controls but are not separately encrypted by Defender Ready. Encrypted export and optional Ready Sync use separate customer-controlled encryption.
Overview
Cyber Atlas LLC does business as Defender Outfitters and is the legal entity responsible for the Defender Ready website and services covered by this policy.
This policy applies to Defender Outfitters's public website, product catalog, Defender Ready website preview, and installed Defender Ready apps when available. It does not replace the privacy policies of Google, government data providers, mapping providers, payment processors, or other websites you choose to visit.
We do not sell or rent personal information. The public catalog does not accept online firearm transactions. When Ready checkout is enabled, it processes eligible non-firearm orders through a hosted payment provider.
Website and Analytics data
When enabled, Google Analytics 4 measures page views, approximate location, device and browser information, referring pages, and selected interactions such as catalog searches, product selections, calls, directions, store-visit links, and review-link clicks.
Hosting and security services may process technical request information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser details, date and time, and diagnostic or security events needed to deliver and protect the website.
If you call or email the store, we receive the contact details and information you choose to provide. Do not send payment-card details, medical records, or other sensitive information by ordinary email.
When you submit a Request List, we store your name, email, phone number, contact preference, optional ZIP code and notes, consent record, submission time, requested products, and the store's follow-up status. The database request and its related items, sourcing results, and event history are automatically deleted 30 days after staff marks the request Closed. The request emails remain in the authorized store mailbox as the persistent correspondence record. The list on your device remains in browser storage until it is submitted or cleared.
When you request compatibility verification, we store your name, email, phone number, contact preference, selected documented mounting system, exact firearm description or SKU, optic being considered, optional notes, consent record, submission time, notification status, and the store's follow-up status.
When you request acceptance of an incoming FFL transfer, we store your name, email, phone number, contact preference, sending dealer or retailer, optional order reference and expected ship date, firearm description, quantity, optional notes, consent and shipment acknowledgement, submission time, notification status, and the store's follow-up status.
When you send website feedback, we store the category, message, page where it was submitted, submission time, and the optional name and email address you choose to provide. We use this information to review suggestions, investigate reported problems, and respond when requested.
Directions, reviews, product sources, and other links can open an outside website. That provider receives the request and applies its own terms and privacy policy.
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, checklist answers, route notes, or precise coordinates to Google Analytics. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Defender Ready device storage and optional encrypted sync
Defender Ready uses device storage so selected features remain available after a refresh and can continue working offline. Depending on what you use, the device may store:
- Household members, contacts, medical reference, meeting places, utility notes, checklist completion, and planning answers.
- Go-bag assessments, inventory and pantry records, expiration dates, communications notes, and saved order drafts.
- A last-saved risk and weather context, including rounded coordinates when you choose current location.
- Saved route coordinates, directions, labels, route notes, map geometry, private pins, selected offline map data, and user-downloaded walking-network graphs.
- Utility identification photos that you deliberately take or choose for an individual shutoff record.
- General files you deliberately import into device-local Files, and encrypted file contents and private catalog details you deliberately place in Secure Vault.
- Offline guides, imported personal PDFs, display choices, health-perspective settings, signal settings, and safety acknowledgements.
Personal PDFs, Digital Storage Files, Secure Vault contents, and utility photos stay on the device and are excluded from Ready Sync. They are also excluded from Household Plan QR and the normal Ready backup. Utility photos enter an encrypted backup only when you separately select that option. Secure Vault encrypts the file contents and private catalog details at rest with a key derived from the passphrase you provide; Defender Outfitters does not receive or recover that passphrase. In the installed Android app, you may separately enable device unlock. Android Keystore then protects an encrypted copy of the derived vault key and the Android system asks for a compatible strong biometric or device screen lock; the passphrase remains the recovery method. Biometric templates, your device PIN, pattern, and password are handled by Android and are not provided to Defender Outfitters. While Secure Vault is unlocked, Android also blocks ordinary screenshots, screen recording, and insecure recent-app imagery. This does not stop someone from photographing the screen with another device or guarantee protection on a compromised or modified phone. You may deliberately save a separate encrypted portable-vault package through the operating system file picker. A readable file exported from Secure Vault is no longer protected by the vault.
Device-local information does not move to another device unless you deliberately export an encrypted backup or portable vault, share a selected item, or create or join a Ready Sync vault when that feature is available. Ordinary Files can be read by anyone with access to the same browser profile or unlocked app. Secure Vault requires its separate recovery passphrase or, after deliberate enrollment in the Android app, the system device-authentication prompt. The cryptographic design, Apple Keychain/LocalAuthentication implementation, removable-media behavior, and physical-device recovery remain subject to testing and review. Clearing site data, using private browsing, uninstalling the app, forgetting the passphrase, losing the device, changing device security, or losing an external copy can make information unavailable.
When you enable Ready Sync, the website or Android app encrypts the recognized Ready plan sections before uploading them. Cloud storage receives a random Ready Sync ID, a one-way authorization verifier, the encrypted payload, a data fingerprint, revision number, and creation/update times. It does not receive the recovery key or a readable copy of the household plan. The website catalog cache, product prices, payment-card information, checkout state, and device sync credentials are excluded from the synchronized plan.
The Ready Sync ID and recovery key are stored on each paired device. Anyone with both can connect to and decrypt the synchronized plan. Defender Outfitters cannot recover the recovery key or decrypt the cloud copy for you. You may disconnect one device without deleting its local plan, or use Ready Sync controls to delete the encrypted cloud copy.
For an enabled Ready checkout, Defender Outfitters stores the customer name, email, optional phone, fulfillment address when shipping, selected products and identifiers, prices, tax, shipping, disclosed differential, total, consent time and terms version, order status, and limited payment references used to verify the transaction. Card numbers and card security codes are entered on Valor PayTech's hosted page and are not submitted through the Defender Outfitters checkout form.
Optional location, weather, and routing
Defender Ready does not request location when the app opens. Location is optional and begins only after you choose a device-location control and grant the browser or Android permission. Foreground hiking navigation may request precise location for route position and off-route detection; approximate-only access remains usable with reduced navigation accuracy, and Defender Ready does not request background location. Rounded latitude and longitude may be sent directly from the app to public or third-party services used to return city, risk, forecast, alert, or online road-route information.
- FEMA National Risk Index data delivered through ArcGIS services.
- National Weather Service points, forecasts, and active alerts.
- The public OSRM routing service and OpenStreetMap when you request or open a road route.
- The public OpenStreetMap Overpass API when you deliberately download a bounded walking network for a selected saved topo region.
Those providers can receive your IP address and the coordinates or region bounds contained in the request. Defender Outfitters does not control their logging, retention, accuracy, or availability. A saved walking network and later hiking route calculations remain on the device; user-started foreground hiking tracking does not upload each tracked position to a routing service. You can deny or revoke location permission and continue using non-location planning features.
Camera, alerts, notifications, and sharing
Camera access is optional and begins only after you choose a camera-dependent feature. Pantry barcode scanning processes camera frames on the device to read a UPC or EAN; Defender Ready does not upload the photo or video. If you request a product lookup, the decoded barcode may be sent through Defender Outfitters to Open Food Facts. Manual barcode entry remains available. When you deliberately choose Take photo for a utility record, the selected image is resized and stored on the device for offline identification; it is not uploaded automatically. On supported Android devices, camera access can also control the torch for a user-started emergency signal without capturing a photo or video.
Vibration, sound, and torch signals are user controlled. They do not contact emergency services or guarantee that another person will notice them. You can stop them from the on-screen control and revoke camera access in device settings.
When an installed-app version offers closed-app alerts, they remain off until you enable them. The notification service stores a random subscription identifier, one-way authorization verifier, encrypted device push token, device platform, selected National Weather Service zones, severity threshold, status, and timestamps or delivery events needed to prevent duplicate delivery and operate the service. Exact coordinates are used to identify the alert zone but are not stored as part of the notification subscription. Android delivery uses Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can disable alerts in Defender Ready or device settings, which removes or invalidates the applicable subscription.
Emergency Profile and Household Plan QR codes and exported PDFs are created on the device from fields you select. Utility photos and Secure Vault files are not attached to Household Plan QR codes. Opening the phone, SMS, email, share, or file controls passes the selected information to the device app or provider you choose. Review the recipient and contents before sending.
Service providers and disclosure
We use service providers to host, secure, measure, and operate the website. They process information for their services under their own terms. We may also preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect customers or the public, investigate misuse, or protect the rights and security of the store and website.
If store email notifications are enabled, our email delivery provider receives the request or paid-order details needed to alert authorized staff and confirm the order to the customer. Submitted requests and Ready orders are available through protected staff tools and authorized notification recipients. After the 30-day post-close database deletion, the original request emails remain in the authorized store mailbox as the persistent correspondence record. Distributor inventory systems are not currently connected.
For each automatically deleted Request List, optic-fit request, or FFL transfer request, we retain a permanent non-sensitive deletion audit entry containing only its reference code, request type, close and deletion dates, deletion reason, and counts of removed items, events, and sourcing results. The deletion log does not retain the customer's name, email, phone, notes, dealer information, product details, or optic/firearm descriptions.
Our hosting and database provider stores the opaque Ready Sync identifiers, authorization verifier, encrypted payload, fingerprint, revision, and timestamps needed to operate optional synchronization. The provider also processes ordinary network and security information when a device connects.
When closed-app alerts are enabled, our database and notification providers process the encrypted device push token, selected official alert zones and threshold, and delivery records needed to send and deduplicate qualifying notifications. The National Weather Service supplies the underlying public alert information.
Valor PayTech receives checkout, customer, amount, tax, and fulfillment details needed to host and process an enabled Ready payment. Valor and the applicable card networks, banks, and processors handle payment-card information under their own terms and privacy practices.
When you request a shipped-order rate, the shipping provider receives the destination and order information needed to return and fulfill the rate. When you request pantry product information, Open Food Facts receives the decoded barcode lookup.
The website is not designed to send personally identifiable information to Google Analytics. Please avoid placing names, email addresses, phone numbers, medical details, or other identifying information into URLs or information that an outside service will receive.
